Ya pas longtemps, avant hier, je me suis decidé a ripper en mp3 mes albums de Tool, c'est quand meme mieux de ripper que de telecharger... Bref, donc j'en reecoute pour voir si ils sont bien rippé, et je me dis, que tiens, j'ai jamais vraiment fait gaffe aux paroles, en particulier de AEnima (raah je sais pas faire le e dans l' a). De fil en aiguille je tombe sur des articles sur Bill Hicks, dont la pochette de cet album possede un portrait avec la legende "Another Dead Hero"

En fait Bill Hicks etait un humoriste americain, decedé il y a un peu plus de 15 ans. Apparement, son humour ravageur ne plaisait pas a tout le monde, il sera meme censuré dans une emission de tele, son passage etant completement coupé au montage.
Hormis un certain coté misanthrope, il est connu pour s'etre adonné aux drogue, pronant les drogues comme etant un moyen d'ouvrir sa conscience (tres 60's pour le coup). Sa prise effrénée de drogue causera certainement le cancer qui va l'emporter...

Enfin, je m'eloigne de ce que je voulais dire au depart. Apparement Tool venere ce bonhomme, ils iront meme jusqu'a lui piquer des idées, et vont meme le sampler sur Third Eye. Hicks a d'ailleurs plusieurs fois utilisé le terme de "Third Eye". Ils lui proposeront meme de faire leurs premieres partie au debut de leur carriere.

De meme, et la j'en viens au titre de mon article, il a sorti un album Arizona Bay, où il ridiculise L.A., et où il raconte la vision qu'il a eu d'un tremblement de terre geant qui engloutirait la Californie pour laisser a la place Arizona Bay. Et donc, Tool, dans sa chanson Aenima reprend cette histoire, pour en ressortir une chanson incroyable, sur des paroles d'une violence assez rare je trouve. A vrai dire, j'ecoute en boucle depuis que j'ai lu les paroles.
Et pour la peine, je remet le clip tout bizarre de la chansons, mais cette fois-ci je rajoute les paroles. Comment je suis sympa!
